Cop shot dead by fellow cop inside Camp Bagong Diwa

A police officer was shot dead on Saturday morning by another police officer inside Camp Bagong Diwa, headquarters of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Taguig City.

According to a report, Police Officer 1 Mark Carlo Pasamba, 29, who is assigned at the 4th Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, sustained three gunshot wounds in the body. The suspect was identified as Police Officer 1 Carlos Aljama, 31, who is assigned at the Administrative Holding Office of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

The shooting happened at around 8:35 a.m. near the Camp Bagong Diwa tennis court. Initial investigation points to a“love triangle” as the possible motive behind the fatal shooting.

Police said  Aljama had accused her wife of allegedly having an  affair with Pasamba.

Police Officer 1 Louie Collisao, who witnessed the shooting said  Aljama first confronted the victim before shooting him.

According to the report, Pasamba was rushed to the nearby Taguig-Pateros District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Aljama, meanwhile, was immediately arrested and is now under the custody of the Taguig City Police.  /muf
