A 27-year-old man was found dead on a beach near a resort in Boracay early morning Thursday, the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) said.

In a police report, the victim was identified as Jerson Hernandez, a housekeeper at Turtle Inn located in Ambulong, Barangay Manocmanoc.

Renante Briones, security guard of Asya Resort and Suites, told police he saw lifeless body of Hernandez slumped on the beach around 5:20 a.m. Thursday.

Information gathered by police indicated Hernandez was last seen with two unidentified men about four hours before the incident. They were seen walking at the area where the victim’s body was found.

Hernandez was brought to Metropolitan Doctor’s Medical Clinic, where he was declared dead around 8:45 a.m. the same day.

Hernandez’s body was transferred to Prado’s Funeral Home in Cubay Sur, Malay, Aklan, police said.

Aklan Police is still undertaking an autopsy to determine the cause of Hernandez’s death. /kga
