President Rodrigo Duterte has named Undersecretary Jesus Melchor Quitain as Officer-In-Charge (OIC) of the Office of the Special Assistant to the President (OSAP).
Quitain will temporary replace Christopher “Bong” Go, who resigned last month to run for senator in the 2019 midterm elections.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed the memorandum designating Quitain as Special Assistant to the President (SAP) on November 9. A copy of the memorandum was released to the media on Monday.
Quitain served as administrator of Davao City when Duterte was still mayor.
Last month, the President announced that Police Sr. Insp. Sofia Loren Deliu would replace Go as his personal aide.
Deliu, who joined the Miss Earth in 2015, has been Duterte’s aide de camp since he assumed the presidency in 2016.
