President Rodrigo Duterte confirmed Thursday that he offered the position of secretary of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to Senator Gringo Honasan.
“I think he’s considering the possibility. Ako naman, I invited him,” Duterte said in an ambush interview in Boracay after leading the distribution of land titles there.
The President said he told Honasan, who is now on his third and final term as Senator, to join him in “a quest for a better Philippines.”
“Sabi ko, if you are doing anything and if you will not run again. So why don’t you join me in a quest for a better Philippines and a better government,” he said.
“I think he’s toying with the idea of joining, but I’m not sure if he has decided to actually join,” he added.
