The runway of the Bacolod-Silay Airport in Negros will be closed for four hours on Friday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

In an advisory on Wednesday, the CAAP said the closure of runway 03/21 will give way for the conduct of an emergency exercise.

“The closure is due to the airport’s conduct of a Full Scale Emergency Exercise in compliance with its Aerodrome Certification. The exercise will be conducted at the stated date and time of the runway closure,” CAAP said.

CAAP said the Bacolod-Silay Airport management has already coordinated with airlines regarding the closure. CAAP also advised passengers to contact their respective airlines regarding their flight schedules.  /muf
