RAMON, Isabela – A gunman was killed in a Tuesday night (Nov. 6) shootout with the town police in San Miguel village, police said.

Rolly Eguid, the fatality, is one of the suspects in a computer shop robbery last month where a girl was raped.

The Ramon police chased Eguid who was riding a motorcycle with another man, after they evaded a checkpoint, according to Senior Supt. Mariano Rodriguez, Isabela provincial police director

The motorcycle riders took a road leading to an irrigation canal.

Eguid allegedly fired at the police and was killed when they shot back. The other rider managed to escape on foot.

The police recovered a handgun, ammunition, and P22,268 in cash from the slain man.
