/ 06:54 PM November 04, 2018

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar on Sunday warned those who would attempt to disrupt this year’s Bar examinations that they have secured the area well.

“Wala tayong natatanggap na threat dito, pero iba kasi kung handang-handa ang ating kapulisan, it will give a strong signal, una para sa ating mga examiners at sa kanilang pamilya na ligtas na pumunta dito ang mga magsusulit at the same time yung mga supporters na nakikita natin,” Eleazar told reporters at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), where the examinations are currently held.

(We did not receive any threat report, but it’s different when the police are ready. It will give a strong signal to the examiners and their relatives that the place is secure.)

The Bar examinations are scheduled on the four Sundays of November (Nov. 4, 11, 18 and 25).

“Ito rin ay magbibigay ng babala dun sa mga maga-attempt na gagawa ng anumang kalokohan at mananabotahe na hindi nila magagawa yun sa ganda ng ating security deployment,” he added.

The NCRPO chief said the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 4 was augmented by other police stations to conduct clearing operations in the university.

“The personnel of the Manila Police District, particular Station 4, augmented by other stations, are doing clearing operations every now and then for the duration of this month,” he said.

“We don’t want to experience anything that has happened before, yung mga pagsabog, yung nagka-clash itong iba’t-bang fraternities at iba pang nananabotahe (the explosions, the clash of fraternities and other forms of sabotage),” he added.

Eleazar was referring to past incidents during the Bar examinations when explosions resulting in injuries and clash between fraternities had occurred. /ee
