Magnitude 6 quake rocks Balindong City, Lanao del Sur

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck the municipality of Balindong in Lanao Del Sur Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to the earthquake bulletin posted on its website, Phivolcs said the quake hit at 3:55 p.m., one kilomenter northwest of Balindong, Lanao Del Sur.

The quake had a depth of focus of 617 kilometers and is of tectonic origin.
No damage and aftershocks are expected following the quake. /ee
