6 fall in Quezon buy-busts

LUCENA CITY – Six suspected peddlers of “shabu” (crystal meth) and marijuana (cannabis sativa) including a minor were nabbed in separate buy-bust operations in Lucena City, Tiaong and Candelaria towns in Quezon province on Friday and Saturday, police said.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested John Carlos Buena, alias “Boy Damo,” in Barangay (village) Gulang-Gulang in Lucena City on Friday around 6:45 p.m., Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said in a report.

The suspect, identified by concerned citizens and rehabilitated drug users as a distributor of marijuana to youngsters in the village, yielded 16.73 grams of “weeds.”

In Tiaong, authorities also arrested an alleged supplier of marijuana shortly before midnight on Friday.

Three suspected pushers of shabu, Richard Pacheco, Randolph Romero and Arturo Aureada Jr., were collared in Barangay Cotta around 11:50 p.m. Friday.

The report said Pacheco was arrested after he sold shabu to an undercover police officer while his cohorts, Romero and Aureada, were busted while packing shabu.

Authorities seized a total of 1.36 grams of shabu from the suspects.

In Candelaria, police arrested Joseph Villanueva after he sold shabu to a police agent in Barangay Pahinga Norte at 12:15 a.m. Saturday. Police seized less than one gram of shabu from the suspect.
