As Filipinos flock cemeteries and other places to honor their dearly departed, Senator Kiko Pangilinan on Thursday appealed to the public to say prayers for victims of forced disappearance, torture, killings, and calamities as well.

Pangilinan said prayers for those victims would also mean support to their families, who have been crying for justice and peace.

“As we pray for our departed family and friends on All Souls’ Day, let us also remember those who have disappeared, were tortured and killed, victims of extrajudicial killings, fatalities in natural calamities,” Pangilinan said in a statement.

“Let us remember them with our fervent prayers for justice that their loved ones seek, so that they may attain peace,” he added. /kga
