Cops foil shabu smuggling at Binondo police station

Authorities apprehended a detainee and his visitor who attempted to slip drugs into the detention center of the Meisic Police Station in Binondo, Manila, on Tuesday night.

According to reports from the Manila Police District (MPD), they received a tip from a detainee that Reneboy Atanacio, 37, from Balut in Tondo, Manila, who was also detained at the station’s custodial facility, received shabu from a visitor.

After the report, police watched Atanacio during the visiting hours, where they saw a visitor identified as Albert Nicdao, 38, also from Balut, handing two sachets of shabu to the detainee.

Authorities also found a sachet with two pieces of aluminum foil inside Nicdao’s shirt.

Both suspects, who are members of the Sputnik gang, will face charges after violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /cbb
