Mindanao hit by second mild quake Wednesday morning

A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck along the coastline of Sarangani on Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The mild quake came within an hour after a 3.4 tremor rocked Polomolok and other towns in South Cotabato.

In a bulletin, the Phivolcs said the Sarangani temblor hit 16 kilometers (km) southeast of the town of Kiamba at 8:20 a.m.

The quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 16 km.

Phivolcs said that no aftershocks or damage could be expected from the earthquake. /cbb
