People wishing to spend the long Undas weekend to visit their departed loved ones or just relax have started flocking to the Araneta Center bus station in Cubao, Quezon City.

As of 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, travelers were already waiting at the station for a ride out of Metro Manila.

Millions of Filipinos go back to their hometowns or provinces to visit the resting places of deceased family members come November 1 (All Saints Day) and November 2 (All Souls Day).

Government authorities and police were also at the terminal to monitor the flow of travelers and to ensure the safety of the passengers.

The Department of Transportation activated “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Undas 2018” last Oct. 27.

Personnel from Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board, Quezon City Police, Highway Patrol Group, Land Transportation Office and Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office were early at the station. /cbb
