Malacañang on Monday assured the public that the government had prepared security measures for the upcoming observance of Undas.

“We are all systems go for the coming All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.

Panelo noted that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) would be deploying more than 3,000 personnel and roads leading to cemeteries were being cleared.

The Philippine National Police (PNP), meanwhile, will deploy more than 30,000 police personnel nationwide to ensure public safety and security this weekend, he added.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has also begun its bus terminal inspection for the safety of the commuters.

Together with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the LTFRB has facilitated the roadworthiness check and validation of drivers’ licenses, Panelo said.

The Palace official also asked the public to cooperate with the government in its efforts to ensure a peaceful observance of the annual Filipino tradition.

“The government will be doing its part but we also ask the public for cooperation to ensure that we will have a solemn and orderly observance of this Filipino tradition,” he said. /cbb
