Magnitude 4.7 quake jolts Ilocos Norte

A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck Ilocos Norte on Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

In an initial report, Phivolcs said that the quake hit 2 km southeast of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte at 6:39 p.m.

The tremblor was felt at Intensity III in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

The earthquake of tectonic origin had a depth of 12 km.

No aftershocks or damage were expected from the quake, Phivolcs said. /atm
