A former high school superintendent in New Jersey, USA, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to publicly pooping in a high school track and field complex.

Thomas Tramaglini pleaded guilty on charges of public defecation, and was required to pay $500 (almost P26,850) fine and court costs, NJ.com reported. The Holmdel municipal court also agreed to scrap charges of lewdness and loitering.

Back in May he was arrested and accused of publicly relieving himself under the bleachers of Holmdel High School.

While Tramaglini pleaded guilty, his lawyer Matthew Adams argued that his client was diagnosed with runner’s diarrhea, a condition defined by the Mayo Clinic as having a loose bowel movement after a run.

The lawyer added that Tramaglini did not know the area had three portable toilets, and said that his client “was not certain he would have made it even if he did know.”

The report said track coaches and the staff of the high school found human feces around the field on a daily basis. An investigation was launched by a school resource officer by borrowing a video camera from a janitor. The former superintendent was caught in the act after his run.

Tramaglini was superintendent of the Kenilworth school district before he was charged, and eventually resigned.

Tramaglini plans to sue the Holmdel Police Department for releasing his mugshot.  Katrina Hallare /ra
