The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) launched on Friday its online appointment system of the seaman’s book or the Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book (SIRB).

The Marina has directed Filipino seafarers to set online appointments for the processing of their SIRBs starting Nov. 5.

The SIRB is an identity document of seafarers issued to provide seafarers with identity papers for travel to or from an assigned vessel.
