3 Marines killed in Sulu encounter with Abu Sayyaf
The Marines from the 61st, 62nd and 64th companies clashed with an undetermined number of Abu Sayyaf terrorists led by Alnijar Ekit and Aldi Alun in Brgy. Timpook in Patikul town, said Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Ltc. Gerry Besana.
“While pursuing the enemies, troops recovered one dead body of an enemy killed with his M14 rifle and seven M14 magazines,” he said.
Three Marines who sustained injuries were brought to the military hospital in Sulu. /muf
