New typhoon threatens to enter PH
The state weather bureau is tracking a typhoon that may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this weekend.
Weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said Tuesday afternoon that the typhoon with international name “Yutu” was spotted 2,670 kilometers east of Visayas.
Yutu packs maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 160 kph.
If it continues its west northwest track at 15 kph, the typhoon could enter PAR this weekend and would then be locally known as Rosita. /kga
