Pressure drop on LRT train prompts passenger transfer
A Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) train transferred its passengers to another train on Tuesday morning as a “precautionary” measure after one of its gauges showed a “drop in pressure.”
Rochelle Gamboa, LRT-1 Head of Corporate Communications, told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview that their driver detected the drop in pressure and advised passengers to disembark at the Doroteo Jose Station.
“They were unloaded and transferred to another train kasi bumababa yung pressure sa gauge,” Gamboa said.
“So, in anticipation of what could happen — kapag bumaba yung pressure sa guage pwedeng tumirik, pwedeng… any incident could happen.. — so before that could happen, they were transferred to safety. It was more on a precautionary transfer than an incident,” she added.
The passenger transfer happened between 7 a.m. and 7:10 a.m.

She said that the transfer was actually “good news” since the train driver immediately reported the drop in pressure to management. /cbb
