Motorcycle thief, drug suspect slain in Cavite, Rizal police ops

SAN PEDRO CITY–A motorcyle thief and a drug suspect were killed in separate police operations in Cavite and Rizal provinces late Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.

In Cavite, a man accused of stealing a motorcycle was killed in a gunfight with the police in Barangay Langkaan, Dasmariñas City at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, said a report from the Calabarzon police.

Police have not yet identified the slain motorcycle robber.

Reports said operatives responded to a report of a motorcycle theft earlier in the city prompting a brief pursuit operation.

The armed thief reportedly engaged law enforcers in a gunfight before a shootout ensued.

In Antipolo City, Rizal, a police shootout also left suspect Raymond Galicha dead  in Barangay San Isidro around 9 p.m. Monday.

Galicha, alias “Nonoy Balat,” was the police target in its buy-bust operation.

The suspect, however, drew his gun during the transaction prompting the police to shoot him down. 

Galicha’s companion, Wilfredo Castro, escaped during the gunfight. /jpv
