Nurse from Albay claims other half of Ultra Lotto P1.18B jackpot

A 30-year-old male nurse has claimed the other half of the P1.18 billion prize this week, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) confirmed on Tuesday.

PCSO Assistant General for Gaming Sector Arnel Casas said the jackpot winner, who also had other part-time jobs aside from nursing, went to the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City with his parents to claim his prize.

Casas said the winner bought the winning ticket from a mall in Legazpi City, Albay and he personally chose the combination which won him the P472 million prize.

The winner took more than one week to claim the prize because he had to plan his travel from Albay to Manila and he needed to secure his safety and family’s safety before he came forward to claim his prize, PCSO said.

Casas added that the jackpot winner regularly bought lotto tickets hoping that he hits jackpot someday.

The other half of the jackpot was claimed by the a lucky bettor from Borlongan, Eastern Samar a week ago. /muf
