A fast-food crew member was arrested Saturday afternoon for illegal drugs in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City.
Police identified the suspect as Berjer Despabiladeras, 21, a resident of Barangay 4, Salud and FB Harrison Streets in Pasay City.
Two small plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (crystal meth) and three pieces plastic sachets of suspected marijuana were recovered from the suspect, authorities said.
According to police reports, the desk officer at the Makati City Police Station received a telephone call from a certain Guia, the manager of a fast-food chain in the city, seeking police assistance.
The suspect, according to authorities, left his bag on top of a table containing sachets of suspected shabu and marijuana, and was reportedly discovered by the guard during an inspection.
PO1 Barnedo and PO2 Evangelista responded to the call. Together with SG Jovell R. Bautista, they searched the suspect’s bag in the presence of the manager and eventually found more illegal drugs.
Barnedo arrested the suspect and immediately brought him to the police precinct. The case will be turned over to the Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) for investigation and proper disposition, authorities said. /ee
