Pedicab driver dead in Navotas road accident

A male pedicab driver died after he was hit by a tractor along C-3 road in Navotas City on Wednesday morning.

The Northern Police District (NPD) said that the suspect, Brendo Gonzalez, 33, of Barangay 129 in Tondo, Manila, was driving towards Caloocan City aboard his Isuzu Tractor head truck, with license plate XPC-544 when he accidentally bumped the rear end of a pedicab driven by Romeo Mejia, 56, from Barangay Sipac in Navotas.

Mejia immediately died after he was dragged below the truck, which was registered to Mariano Alolor.

The victim’s body was brought to the Ezekiel Funeral Homes for autopsy. The suspect, on the other hand, was brought to the Navotas City Hospital for medical examination.

Gonzalez will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and damage to property. /ee
