Former Loay, Bohol town mayor back in the race to regain her old seat

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The matriarch of a political clan in Loay town, Bohol is seeking to regain her old seat.

Former Loay Mayor Rosemarie Lim-Imboy filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayor in Loay town.

Her daughter, incumbent Loay Mayor Rochelle Brigitte Imboy-Abutazil, would be her running mate.

Her husband, incumbent Vice Mayor Brigido Imboy, will instead seek a seat in the municipal council. The Imboys are the official candidates of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).

Rosemarie, who had served three terms as Loay mayor, credited her family for the town’s progress.

“Our intention is only to help the town,” she said. “I am doing this for Loay.”

Rosemarie, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two years ago, said her health should not be  an issue in the campaign.

“God is good. He gives me another chance to serve the people of Loay,” she said. “Everything is under control. I am doing good. Please continue to pray for me. I still need your prayers,” she added. /ee
