Angara won as Senator in the 2013 polls and is seeking a second term still under the banner of Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP) which he leads as president. The LDP was co-founded in 1988 by the late Senate President Edgardo Angara.

Angara said that it was the decision of his wife to file his COC on its last day of filing, as it was deemed lucky according to feng shui.

“Ito daw yung swerte sabi ni misis, pina-feng shui niya ata,” (This day is lucky according to my wife, according to feng shui) Angara said on Wednesday when asked why he filed his COC on the last day of the filing.

“Sana totoo, sana totoo,” (Hope it is true) he added in an interview before filing his COC for senator at the Comelec main office in Intramuros, Manila.

Angara remains in the “Magic 12” bracket in senatorial surveys. The senator said he is thankful for the survey results.

Angara said he would use the results as his motivation to work harder in the Senate.

When pressed on how he would maintain his ranking in the surveys, Angara said public visibility is important.
