Con-com spox, 11 party mates file COCs for senators

The spokesperson of the Consultative Committee (Con-com), tasked by President Rodrigo Duterte to review the Constitution for the proposed shift of government to federalism, has filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator.

Ding Generoso filed on Tuesday his COC at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) main office in Intramuros, Manila with 11 party mates who will also run for the Senate in the 2019 elections.

Generoso said his team, which will run under the banner of the Katipunan ng Kamalayang Kayumanggi party, will push for federalism should they win in the elections.

He also said his team will represent the different regions in the country, which also symbolizes their support for federalism.

Generoso will be gunning for the Senate with Milai Malilin (from Region 2), Ernesto Arellano (Region 1), Charlie Gaddi (Region 3), Jess Caceres (Region 5), Richard Aladajora (Region 7), Evangeline Abejo (Region 8), Arpa Hussayin (Region 9), Faisal Mangondato (Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao), Agnes Escudero (Region 10), Josie Javelona (Region 11), and Joan Nalliw (Cordillera Administrative Region). /muf
