2 suspected ‘shabu’ peddlers busted in Lucena

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested two suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Lucena City early Tuesday.

Local drug enforcement unit nabbed Benjamin Paglinawan, 40 and his alleged accomplice, Reizon Elauria, 29, after the two sold shabu to a police agent posing as drug user in a transaction in Barangay Ibabang Dupay around 1:30 a.m, said a report from Supt. Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief.

The suspects, who were both included on the police drug watch list, yielded 1.76 grams of shabu that were packed in 16 small plastic sachets ready for distribution to drug users in the village.

The confiscated drugs have an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1,480.

Report said concerned villagers tipped off the police station on the drug pushing activities of the suspects. /cbb
