Senator Bam Aquino filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Tuesday, as he seeks to have a second term in the Senate in next year’s national elections.
Aquino said he wanted to seek another term as senator to help Filipino families, noting that he had also been pushing for the suspension of excise tax on fuel under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (Train) law.
“Pursigido pa po akong tumulong sa pamilyang Pilipino na makabangon at mabuhay nang maginhawa. Kaya tatakbo po uli ako sa Senado,” he said in statement.
(I am diligent to help Filipino families to recover and live a comfortable life. That’s why I am running again for the Senate.)
Aquino was joined by his wife Timi and daughters Rory and Coco in filing his COC. Also joining him outside the building of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) are his supporters who wore black and yellow, his campaign colors for the 2019 elections.
He will run under the banner of the opposition Liberal Party. /cbb
