Duterte escorts Go in filing COC at Comelec
President Rodrigo Duterte accompanied Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go in filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) main office in Intramuros on Monday.
Go will run for senator in the midterm elections next year.
Also with Go at the Comelec was Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, and former Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano.
Before going to the Comelec, Go prayed at the San Miguel Church in Malacañang.

In February 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte’s trusted aide insisted he would not run seek a seat at the Senate, saying he was “not interested” in running.

Up until the week of COC filing commenced, Go said he was still unsure on whether to run for senator.

“Nag-iisip pa po ako ng mabuti, nagdarasal po ako ng mabuti, at sana ma-enlighten po ako sa aking magiging decision sa mga susunod na araw,” Go said in a radio interview. /kga
