Classes in Albay suspended on Tuesday due to transport strike

Classes in all levels in Albay province in both public and private schools are suspended on Tuesday (Oct. 16) in anticipation of a mass transport strike.

Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara ordered the suspension of classes after Condor Piston Bicol has announced its decision to hold a mass transport strike.

“The Condor Piston Bicol had announced their collective decisions of holding a mass transport strike tomorrow,” Bichara, who is also the chairman of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) in Albay, said.

“[The] PDRRMC Albay therefore hereby orders a one-day province-wide suspension of classes in all levels, both private and public schools tomorrow, Tuesday,” he added. /ee
