Senator Nancy Binay said she won’t meddle with the rift between her siblings Makati Mayor Abby and former mayor Junjun Binay, as the two could be rivals in seeking the mayoral post in the 2019 elections.
“Hindi na. Matatanda na ‘yung mga kapatid ko. May kanya-kanyang isip na sila (No. They are adults. They already have their own minds),” she told reporters on Friday, when asked if she will intervene in the possible competition between the two.
Asked if there is indeed conflict between his siblings, she said: “It’s up to your interpretation.”
The senator was then asked if she sided with one of her siblings, as Junjun accompanied her in filing her certificate of candidacy at the headquarters of the Commission on Elections.

She refused to give a direct answer.
But asked if it is Abby or Junjun who is closer to her, Nancy Binay said: “Sino ba ang kasama ko ngayon (Who am I with today)?”
She also said that their family is still waiting for their parents, former Vice Mayor Jejomar Binay and Elenita, who are in a pilgrimage in Italy and are set return to the country over the weekend.
The senator added she was confident that the issue will be settled soon. /je
