Former Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson will be running as an independent candidate in the 2019 midterm elections.
“Independent ako (I will be an independent),” Uson said in a news forum on Wednesday.
Uson made the disclosure after Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III announced that she won’t be included in the senatorial slate of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
Pimentel is president of the PDP-Laban.
Asked earlier why Uson was not in the PDP-Laban lineup, Pimentel said: “[It’s] self-explanatory.”

“Nasabi naman ni Senator Koko na it’s self-explanatory. Independent ako (Senator Koko already said it’s self-explanatory. I will run as an independent),” Uson said.
Uson said that she was still not sure whether to seek a seat in the Senate or in the House of Representatives. /cbb
