LOOK: Unicef launches Situational Analysis report on Children in PH

The United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) presented on Tuesday the latest summary report on Situational Analysis of Children in the Philippines during a meeting with the representatives of different government agencies and non-government organizations at the Novotel Araneta Center in Quezon City.

In collaboration with the National Economic Development Authority (Neda), the Unicef has gathered data in 2017 to come up with the research.

Neda Assistant Secretary Carlo Abad Santos and Department of Social Welfare and Development Assistant Secretary Glenda Relova were the keynote speakers in lieu of the government institutions’ chiefs.

During the presentation, the government has also expressed their support and commitment to promote the welfare of children.

Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte also spoke at the event expressing the local government unit’s plan to promote and protect the rights of children.

Among the agencies present were the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Commission on Human Rights, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, National Youth Commission, Council for the Welfare of Children, National Council on Disability Affairs, and universities such as Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines Diliman and Los Baños. /jpv
