Gunman in Nueva Ecija priest’s slay nabbed in Quirino

MADDELA, Quirino – A 36-year-old man, who was implicated in the June 10 killing of a priest in Nueva Ecija province, was arrested in a drug bust on Friday night, police said.

Bernie Limpio, 36, of Arayat town in Pampanga province, was allegedly one of seven men who murdered 44-year-old Fr. Richmond Nilo through a side window of the Mayamot chapel as he was about to lead Mass at Zaragosa town in Nueva Ecija.

Limpio was caught after he allegedly sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover policeman.

He has been hiding in Maddela after Nilo’s killing, police said.

Limpio was allegedly one of the men who tailed Nilo when he drove to Mayamot village.

Omar Mallari, one of the supposed gunmen, identified his accomplices after he was arrested by the Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Arayat on June 22. VILLAMOR VISAYA JR.
