‘Queenie’ out of PH, en route to southern Japan

Typhoon “Queenie” (international name: Kong-Rey) has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said Thursday evening.

As of 7 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Twitter that Queenie is outside the country and heading towards southern Japan,.

In its 4 p.m. weather advisory, Pagasa said Queenie was last seen at 680 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, moving northwest at 20 kilometers per hour (kph) with maximum sustained winds of 125 kph and gustiness of up to 155 kph. /kga
