Suspected drug dealer shot dead in Cauayan City

CITY OF CAUAYAN – A 24-year-old man was shot dead by police officers before Wednesday midnight during a drug bust at Barangay Villa Luna in this Isabela city, police said.

Gilbert Dichosa had been under surveillance for peddling marijuana and shabu (crystal meth), and was the subject of a police sting operation when he suddenly fired at an undercover policeman, said Senior Supt. Mariano Rodriguez, Isabela police director.


But Dichosa missed. The policeman returned fire, killing him.

The police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized a sachet of shabu, a zip-locked pack containing dried marijuana leaves, and two pieces of rolled paper. Villamor Visaya Jr./lb
