Responding to allegations that she is the “queen of fake news,” resigned Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson dared her critics on Thursday to file a case against her if ever she disseminated fake news.
“Unang una, ano yung fake news na sinasabi nilang pinapakalat ko? Ilabas nila lahat yan. At meron tayong batas laban sa fake news, it’s a crime to spread fake news. Kasuhan nila ako patungkol dyan sa fake news na yan,” Uson said over an interview at UNTV.
(First of all, what fake news they are saying I am spreading? Expose all of it. And we have a law against [purveying] fake news, it’s a crime to spread fake news. Charge me in court regarding that fake news.)
Uson said she only committed honest mistakes and not spreading fake news.

“Ang akin lang kung nagkamali man ako na sinabing yung Mayon ay nasa Naga, hindi po fake news, honest mistake. Dahil hindi po balita yun. Kung nagkamali man ako sa grammar ko, sa english, hindi po fake news yun. Honest mistake.”
(For me, if I committed a mistake in saying Mayon is in Naga, that is not fake news, that was honest mistake. That’s not news. If I committed a mistake in my grammar, in english, those are not fake news. Honest mistake.)
Uson claimed she is only guilty of spreading one fake news: “Ang hindi totoo na minsan hindi ako nalulungkot na wala akong forever.” (What is not true is that sometimes I am not lonely even that I don’t have a forever.)
Uson said she is ready to face charges against her because she has nothing to be scared of and nothing to hide.
“Wala po akong kinakatakutan. Ang taong walang ginagawang masama, hanggang harapin lahat hanggang kamatayan. Magharap-harap tayo. Tingnan natin kung sino talaga ang masama,” Uson said.
(I am not afraid of anything. A person who doesn’t do anything bad, until we face each other, until death. Let’s face each other. Let’s see who really is shoddy.) /jpv
