11 undocumented Indonesians caught in Sarangani

KORONADAL CITY – Police intercepted 11 undocumented foreign nationals believed to be fishermen from Indonesia in Sarangani province Tuesday night.
Chief Supt. Eliseo Tam Rasco, police 12 regional director, said the 11 foreigners later identified as Indonesian fishers from Sulawesi, were intercepted at 9 p.m. Tuesday in Sitio Calanasan, Barangay Taluya, Glan town.
Rasco said the 11 people could not speak Filipino or English which made police and immigration officials suspicious.
Quoting a report from the Sarangani police office, Rasco said the 11 foreigners arrived in the country on Sept. 23 via the so-called “southern backdoor” and started fishing off Sarangani Bay before they returned to Glan.
Police identified the Indonesians as Kostan Tumei Manake, 47, married, and Christian, a resident of Manembo Nembo in Matuari, Sulawesi; Donni Riksmen Sitompul, 38, married, Christian, a resident of Girian Indah, Girian, Sulawesi; Harjono Makalisang, 30, single, Christian, a resident of Gunung Woka, Lembeh Utara, Sulawesi; Sapar Haribae Maulana, 53, married, Muslim, resident of Manembo Nembo Atas, Matuari, Sulawesi; Jeynes Ambalao, 34, married, Christian resident of Batulubang, Lembeh Selatan, Sulawesi; Marthin Batasina, 51, resident of Lembeh Utara, Sulawesi; Oscar Tempomona Masoa, 47, resident of Manembo Nembo, Matuari, Sulawesi; Karlos Sasahi, 47, resident of Dalokaweng Sanger, Matuari, Sulawesi; Tara Hengkeng Legesang, 59, resident of Manembo Nembo, Matuari, Sulawesi; Jamudin Sarapil Pangumpia, 36, resident of Kel. Tandurusa, Kota Bitung, Sulawesi; and Marcos Bastian, 52, resident of Manembo nembo, Matuari, Sulawesi.
Joyce Kandice Villaraza, alien control officer of the Bureau of Immigration in Sarangani, said the Indonesian nationals were undocumented.
Rasco said the foreigners were in Glan municipal police office for documentation and proper disposition.
