“Good move.”
This was how Senator JV Ejercito takes the resignation of Mocha Uson as Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).
“Well palagay ko it’s a good move on her part kasi ang sabi ko nga ang hirap mag-balanse. Blogger ka tapos public official ka, so of course you will be constrained,” Ejercito told reporters on Wednesday.
“Medyo may konting restriction siyempre iba ‘yung … We hold public officials with higher standards atsaka mas … kumbaga mas controlled ‘yung movements, ‘yung sasabihin mo,” he added.
The senator noted Uson’s resignation from PCOO could give her more freedom in running her blog.
“Siguro nagsakripisyo na rin siya kasi naaapektuhan na rin ‘yung buong PCOO. Kasi ‘yung budget ng PCOO is being held lalo na sa House, so siguro sabi … ang hirap din kasi nung … Ako naiintindihan ko kasi ang hirap din nung sitwasyon,” Ejercito said.
Earlier, Uson claimed that some lawmakers were constantly delaying the PCOO budget deliberations because of her. Legislators have been demanding for her presence during budget deliberations. But Uson has failed to show up a number of times as she was usually on official business abroad.
She said she resigned to allow things to move on. /kga
