Now that she is no longer in government, resigned Assistant Communications Secretary Mocha Uson has declared war against some senators and congressmen she branded as “epal” (thick-faced).
After announcing her resignation from her post, Uson vowed to fight back at some lawmakers, whom she accused of using their position for their personal agenda.
“Malaya na po ako uli na makipaglaban kasi nawala yung akong dati dahil kailangang sumunod sa ganito, sumunod sa ganyan. Pipigilan ka na na magsalita kasi iipitin nga ang budget,” she told reporters in an interview at the Senate on Wednesday.
(I am free again to do battle because I lost my usual self when I need to follow this and follow that. You will be barred from saying something because they will leave your budget hanging.)
“Pero ngayon, asahan nyo na mas magiging matapang pa,” she said.
(But now, rest assured that this will be bolder.)
Uson was at the Senate for the budget hearing of the Presidential Communications Operations Office. It was during the hearing of the Senate committee on finance where she announced her resignation.

Uson heaved a sigh of relief that she is no longer in government and that she could now fight back against her critics, especially those in Congress.
“Kasi wala na akong isisipin na masasagasaan [Because I will no longer mind whose toes I will step on to],” Uson said.
Asked to identify the lawmakers whom she earlier said were using their positions for personal agenda, she said: “Marami po dyan kasi yung mga epal na senador at mga kongresista…Kasi somosobra na sila e.”
(A lot of them who are thick-faced senators and congressmen… They are too much.)
“Abangan nyo lang na po. May blog naman po ako so raratsada tayo dun. Bakbakan na to. Bakbabakan na talaga ito.”
(Just wait for it. I have a blog where I can go all out. This will be a war. This will really be a war.)
“Lalampasuhin natin yung trapo, ang mga walanghiya, yung mga credit grabber na politiko na dapat e matapos na ang kanilang panahon,” she added.
(We will shame the traditional politicians, the thick-faced, the politicians who are credit grabbers, their time should end.)
During the hearing, the resigned official promised to continue and bring her fight to Congress.
“Balang araw magkakaharap din po tayo. Ngunit hindi tulad nyo na nagtatago sa inyong position, handa akong lumaban bilang isang ordinaryong Filipino kasama ng mga walang boses sa lipunan,” she said.
(Someday we will face each other. But unlike you who are hiding under the cloak of your position, I am ready to fight as an ordinary Filipino alongside those who have no voice in our society.)
“Dadalhin ko ang laban sa Senado at Kongreso. Hindi po ito katapusan ng laban. Umpisa pa lamang po ito,” Uson added.
(I will bring the fight in Senate and Congress. This is not the end of the fight. This is just the. beginning.) /jpv
