The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has temporarily suspended the provincial bus ban along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa), citing the delay of the expected completion of bus terminals in Valenzuela, Parañaque, and Laguna.
The MMDA initially implemented the bus ban on August 15 to lessen the number of vehicles passing through the highway during rush hours.
However, due to the delay in completing the repairs of the Valenzuela interim terminal, the Parañaque Integrated Terminal, and the Sta. Rosa Terminal, the ban was lifted after more than one month of implementation.
“So balik na po sa dati, they (buses) can traverse EDSA anytime of the day,” MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago said in an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990 AM on Tuesday. /ee
