Palparan to be transferred to New Bilibid Prison on Oct. 3 – AFP chief

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Jovito Palparan Jr. will finally be transferred to the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on Wednesday, Oct. 3, Malacañang said Monday.

According to presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr., chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, confirmed to him that Palparan, who is currently detained at Camp Aguinaldo, would be transferred at the NBP on Oct. 3.

“Sir, accordingly this coming Wednesday,” Roque quoted Galvez as saying.

Palparan was found guilty by Judge Alexander Tamayo of the Malolos Regional Trial Court for the kidnapping and serious illegal detention University of the Philippines students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeño in 2006. /atm
