Fire affects 20 families in Manila

Twenty families were affected by a fire that razed around 10 houses in Manila late Thursday night, police said.

According to police’s incident report, the fire broke out around 11:20 p.m. from the ground floor of a two-story house in Baseco compound, Port Area.

Authorities said no person was injured by the blaze, which likely damaged around P70,000 worth of asset.

Fire Supt. Louie R. Puno said the flames were stopped around 12:13 a.m. Friday. Police said investigation on the cause of the fire is still ongoing. /kga
