MANILA, Philippines — The camp of former President now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo floated the so-called “Put Little Girl to Sleep” plot on her life as yet another attempt to win public sympathy, a lawmaker said Thursday.
Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casino said “there is no doubt the plot is part of a script” to generate support for Arroyo, who is facing charges of electoral sabotage, a non-bailable offense.
Casino also described the alleged plot as a “desperate move” by Arroyo’s camp.
“They failed to convince the public she’s suffering from life-threatening bone disease, now they’re saying her life is under threat,” Casino said.
Casino said the Arroyos were trying to elevate the script “from medical drama to suspense thriller, but its turning out to be a comedy.”
ACT partylist Rep. Antonio Tinio also said the Arroyos were merely pushing their agenda of “house arrest” for the former president.
Tinio said it should be recalled that Arroyo has a history of lying and manipulating the results of the election to keep herself in power.
