CITY OF CAUAYAN, Isabela – A simple parking dispute led to the mauling of an Army captain allegedly by the city information officer in front of a food chain in San Fermin village on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Army Captain Ralph Eugene Martinez was taking lunch when he asked Cauayan City spokesman Jay Bartolome to move his car further away from his vehicle to give him space to open his door later.

Instead of obliging Martinez, Bartolome allegedly started an argument that led to a brawl. The Army officer has been hospitalized.

Army Maj. Gen. Perfecto Rimando, 5th Infantry Division commander, said he would investigate the incident.
