Magnitude 4.0 quake hits Ilocos Norte

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake jolted Ilocos Norte on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The Phivolcs reported that the quake hit five kilometers (km) southwest of Marcos town, Ilocos Norte, at 8:03 a.m.

The earthquake of tectonic origin had a depth of seven km.

Phivolcs said no aftershocks nor damage could be expected from the earthquake.
