The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) dismantled a kitchen-type crystal meth, or “shabu,” laboratory in a posh residential area in Pasay City, Tuesday evening.
PDEA conducted a series of operations leading to the dismantling of the shabu laboratory.
PDEA Director Aaron Aquino said the dismantling of the shabu laboratory is a follow-up operation on the buy-bust operation conducted early morning Tuesday at Aseana Power Station on Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Paranaque City.
PDEA arrested Hong Kong residents Lam King Wah, 35 and Wong Ka Lok, 38.
Agents seized from them 2 kilos worth of shabu worth P13.6 million and 16 liters of chemicals used in making shabu.
Aquino said the two Hong Kong nationals are believed to be facilitators of the chemists of the shabu laboratory in Pasay.
In another buy-bust operation conducted in a hotel in Manila at around 9 a.m. Tuesday, PDEA agents arrested two chemists – Lam Wing Bun, 52, and Lam ming Sun, 56, both from Hong Kong.
Authorities seized from them 1 kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million. /atm
