Cops arrive at the Senate to arrest Trillanes

Officers of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) have arrived at the Senate to arrest Senator Antonio Trillanes IV after the Makati Regional Trial Court issued a warrant of arrest against him on Tuesday.

“The team from NCRPO headed by COP (Chief of Police) of Makati [are] now in the Senate to serve the warrant,” Philippine National Police Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde told INQUIRER.net in a text message.

NCRPO Chief Police Director Guillermo Eleazar is also at the Senate to serve the warrant.

“I directed them to pay courtesy to the Senate President,” Albayalde said.

Albayalde earlier assured that the police will coordinate with Senate President Vicente Sotto III first before conducting the arrest. /ee
