Duterte says Jason Aquino will not return to NFA – Villar
Contrary to reports, outgoing National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Jason Aquino will not return to the agency.
Senator Cynthia Villar said no less than President Rorigo Duterte made the assurance when she sought for clarification on a news report that Aquino would report to work again.
Villar said she first called Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go, who passed the phone to the President.
“Sabi nya hindi totoo ‘yun. He’s (Aquino) not coming back to NFA, sabi n’yang ganun,” Villar said, quoting the President.
“Tell them, he’s not coming back to NFA. He doesn’t want to be (at the) NFA,” the senator added, still quoting Duterte.
The President earlier said he was in search for a new NFA Administrator after Aquino requested that he be relieved from leading the agency.
“Jason Aquino has requested to be relieved already,” Duterte said. “He is tired.” /kga
